Simkl tracks a lot — movies, TV, anime — but the interface sprawls and the product leans anime-centric, which isn't for everyone, and a growing set of features sits behind the Pro tier. How to export

Back up your Simkl data

  1. 01

    Open Settings → Backup

    Sign in at simkl.com and go to Settings → Backup (simkl.com/apps/backup).

  2. 02

    Download your backup

    Everyone can download a ZIP with a JSON backup of your movies, TV, and anime — including watchlist and ratings.

  3. 03

    The Pro CSV works too

    The free JSON backup carries your full per-episode history, so it's the one we recommend. If you have Simkl's Pro CSV export instead, that imports too.

What doesn't come across yet

What stays behind

  • Memos and notes don't import
  • Anime without a TMDB id may not be matched
